Because I only have a select few litters per year, most of my pups are usually spoken for by the time they are born. Please feel free to contact me to be placed on my waiting list. Please feel free to email me ringohillman@yahoo.com or give me a call. My puppy prices are $950 for male or female, with spay/neuter contracts for PETS only, whether they are show quality or not. This means they can't be bred at anytime, that they must be altered at an appropriate age. Please remember it takes every bit as much time, effort and money to raise a pet puppy as it does a show prospect, and that regardless of the quality of the pups, they are all loved and spoiled the same as the rest!
I am breeding 3 litters right now, these will be my only litters this year. Litters should be due between the end of April and middle of May of 2010.

Older pups: I occasionally have an older pup available, people sometimes ask why this is. I may keep a pup or two back for future show evaluation, and in the process of them growing/changing, I may decide to alter them and sell them as pet. Also, sometimes I may feel I have not found their "right" families, there is nothing wrong with them. There are lots of factors that go into deciding on a new family for each pup. I will keep a pup as long as it takes to find them the right home, where I believe they will fit into the lifestyle of the new family. I am able to do this because I have very few litters each year (2-4). I do believe that each pup/dog ends up where he or she is supposed to be. I am also picky about where my pups go, I want the pup/family to be a perfect fit, so if I don't feel like that pup will fit into a particular home, I won't sell it to that family. I also reserve the right to first pick of the litter, for future show potential.
Older pups and adult dogs to adjust very well to new families, even new names. When you purchase a pup you are aquiring potential, what that pup may someday turn out to be, based on the behavior he/she has already shown, as well as the character of the parents. When you are purchasing an older pup or adult, you are aquiring what he or she already is. Please check the home page, on the bottom is two references from families who have purchased older pups, there are also more references on the About us/contact page.

I do not raise toys, I will occassionaly get small pups in a litter, they will grow to be within the AKC standard, just on the smaller side. The AKC standard says 12"-14" in height. A smaller pup would be 12"-12.5" in adulthood, still within standard, and would still have good bone size and substance (which is charcteristic of a well bred Schnauzer). These pups work out very well for families with small children or older people, who can not lift something that is 18-20 pounds. There is no such thing as a "toy" or "micro" schnauzer. These breeders are breeding the smallest from a litter to the smallest of another litter, or breeding with other true toy type of dogs to downsize the schnauzer breed, which will eventually breed disease such as diabetes into the pups they are producing, all for the sake of money. Schnauzers were meant to be working type dogs, they have good substance to them, a good solid bone size, they should look small and be compact, but when you pick them up they are solid (you KNOW you have a dog), not something that will fit into your purse. In Europe Miniature Schnauzers are classified, shown and used as working dogs, they are used for herding, protection, vermin control etc..

Deposits will be required in order for me to hold the puppy for you. I require a $200 deposit for pets. These are non-refundable. If I do not get something for you in a litter, I will put your deposit towards the first pick of the next litter. References are available from previous puppy parents, and my vet. There are some references on the home page, as well as on the "about us" page. Please let me know if you would like to speak with any of my puppy parents, this is easily arranged. I don't offer a "buy it now" button, as I will not sell a puppy to you without speaking to you first.

I have negotiated with my vet for a price of $200 for ear cropping. He can also do spay/nueters before the pup leaves (depending on the age), for $150 for the alters. He uses laser surgery for the altering, and they heal quickly. He does a beautiful job on the ears also! All of these things can be done before your puppy leaves, if you would like them completed. If you need me to keep your pup for awhile longer while you vacation, or until the kids get out of school, I am happy to do it. This gives us more time to work on their training, which makes for less work when the pup goes home. I do not charge board fees to do this.

Payment may be made by personal check, money order, or paypal. The remaining balance (after $200 deposit) must be made at least 10 days before puppy is due to ship. There are no exceptions to this.

Your new baby will be: absolutely adorable, VERY spoiled, house and crate training well started. He/she will be started on basic commands such as "no dogs", "come", I no longer teach my pups to sit, until they are evaluted, every pup is show potential until they are evaluated as otherwise, and we don't want a dog to sit in the ring for their treat! The tails and dew claws are taken off ASAP after they are born, to avoid discomfort to the pups. They will be current on their vaccinations (started at 5 weeks) and dewormed from the age of 4 weeks. He/she will sleep by theirself in their individual crate from about 6.5 weeks of age. This makes it so he/she will not cry and whimper at night (making it easier on you and the pup), and it helps get them used to their crate so they won't have a hard time on the plane or in the car. We have puppy pads for inside the house, just in case, but mostly they are potty trained by going outside when they first wake up, then throughout the day as they play.

My kids, (6 & 12) and some of the neighborhood children, as well as myself and my husband and anyone else who would like to admire gorgeous babies, handle the pups daily from birth. Our kids are allowed to hold and cuddle and play with them as much as they would like. My 5 year old has helped me deliver almost every litter. Sometimes it seems they will be mauled to death, but it actually helps the pups not to be shy and to know that it's not scary or bad when they hear a different voice or smell different smells.  We play with the pups feet constantly, so it's not a struggle to cut their toenails, we also play with their ears so they don't pull away when they are going to get clipped or have their ears cleaned. I do not use a grooming noose to groom my dogs or pups, they are taught to stand on the table for their grooming. If you would like your puppy not clipped, or would like a puppy cut, please let me know.  They will have a recent haircut when they come to you.

What's included in the price of the puppy: AKC registration papers (provided after I receive a reciept for spay/nueter), vaccinations, tail and dew claw removal, toys, blankets, food and anything else we can send to make your puppy comfortable on the plane ride to you and when he/she gets there (puppy Hilton is how it's been described by a customer!). Baby pictures, videos and weekly updates of what your puppy has been up to. Also current hair cut and trimmed nails (unless you would prefer not to have the pups hair cut). Our vet does an excellent ear crop, I feel very comfortable having him do it. Shipping is $250-260.

*Please note, if you want something that will get along with everyone and everything, I would definetely suggest a MALE! Nuetered males do not "mark their territory" as a lot of people think, they are not aggressive either. Males are not territorial like the females are, they don't mind company (4-legged or 2-legged) like the females do. The males personality is very easy going while still being protective.  Females are more territorial and rule the roost so-to-speak. Males are typically healthier as they don't have the tendency to get cysts on their breasts like females, or have reproductive problems like an unspayed female. The girls are wonderful also, most don't warm up to strangers as fast. As long as you have them spayed, you won't have to worry about the messy twice per year heat cycles and all the boys coming to your house.  I will sell full registration, with a contract a mile long, for a million dollars, cash only. :)

Please, do not take your baby into a pet store, pet or public park until they are at least 16 weeks old! Even though they have their most current vaccinations when you get them, they won't get their rabies vaccination until 13 weeks of age. There is always a chance they can pick up something from an unvaccinated dog at a pet store or park!

If your intent is to begin showing in conformation, you need to go to an AKC sanctioned show, visit with some of the handlers, find a mentor that will be willing to help you. I do NOT sell my puppies to show homes.  Please realize it is a costly adventure, not only in purchasing the pup, but also ear cropping, stripping, handling fees, traveling fees, entry fees etc.. It costs anywhere between $6000-$10,000 to finish a dog (sometimes more), and a lot of time, dedication and patience! If you would like to participate in flyball, agility, earthdog or any other type of competition, you can do all these with limited registration on your dog. I do not sell for breeding, nor will I refer anyone to another breeder for a breeding dog. If you would like a pet and I don't have something that will fit into your life, by all means contact me! I'll help you find a puppy from a reputable breeder.

I prefer a chicken and rice puppy food for the pups, until they get older (9-12 months old), then they should be switched to a lamb and rice food (less fat). The only Science Diet food I feed is Science Diet T/D which is for tarter control, it works great, and is only given here as treats. If you feel your pup/dog needs vitamins, please contact me, I have some to recommend, I do not however, make it manditory that they are given. This is something I feel should be left to the individual families, not something that's put in my contract.

Please LEASH your dog or puppy when you are not at home. I know this sounds like common sense, however, when it's routine, and your dog is used to going  places, it's easy to be lax about it. I rarely leash my dogs when they come with us. I recently had a woman contact me about a puppy, she had told me about her beloved Woody, and was looking forward to a playmate for him. A few weeks later she contacted me with horrible news, Woody had been attacked and killed by a pitbull mix dog, in the yard of their office. Sharon was right there, Woody was not unattended. Both Sharon and the owner of the pitbull mix dog received serious injuries, trying to get the dog off Woody. Sharon and her husband are currently working to get a leash law into affect in their area.

Woody Tucker, beloved pet of Sharon and Jim Tucker and Family
Mascot of Sterling Mortgage, White Stone
On March 12, 2009, Woody, our miniature schnauzer was senselessly killed
by a pit-bull mix in White Stone. His death was caused by the lack of proper
animal control laws and careless dog owners.
The tragedy is that two families have lost their dogs, one to a mauling and one
to euthanasia. Woody cannot be replaced, as he was “special.” Woody worked
everyday as the greeter for our business in Richmond and in recent years
at Sterling Mortgage of White Stone. He was a sweet and loving dog with
human-like qualities. When Woody made friends at our office, they would
drop by again, not to visit us but to visit Woody. He will be remembered as
THE LITTLE DOG WITH A BIG HEART.
While Woody could not be saved, there are options available to prevent this
from happening again.
Effective October 1, 2008, the Code of Virginia, §3.2-6538, gave “the
governing body of any locality the right to prohibit the running at large of all
or any category of dog in all or any designated portion of such locality during
such months as they may designate.”
Effective October 1, 2008, the Code of Virginia, §3.2-6539, also gave “the
governing body of any locality the right to adopt ordinances requiring that
dogs within any such locality be kept on a leash or otherwise restrained.”

So, our community has options in making positive changes to the current
animal control laws in White Stone. These changes are needed to keep all
residents, pets and visitors safe in the town of White Stone
In May, a public meeting will be held at the White Stone Town Hall to address
changing the current animal control law. We are calling on you to attend this
meeting. ALL PUBLIC SUPPORT IS GREATLY NEEDED.
The Tucker family wishes to thank everyone for your outpouring of kindness
and especially to Lloyd B. Hubbard, Mayor, for his quick response and
understanding of the need to change our animal control law in White Stone.
